This page describes the 1998 Patent issued to William B. Hussel (President/Owner) of Chimney Doctors.  This Patent solves many chimney flue problems, moisture problems and is part of many chimney repair projects.

This patent (#5,832,682) was issued to William B. Hussel in November 1998 by the United States Patent office. There are few if any other patents issued to other chimney repair companies throughout the United States. Chimney Doctors strives to be at the technological forefront in presenting ideas to the consumer/client that are proven less expensive ways to repair chimneys.

The ATTIC MOISTURE SEAL is a designed feature which during the reconstruction process of a new or rebuilt chimney, a seal is placed to prevent moisture from the furnace or hot water heater from attacking the new bricks. In the past, the only method known to solve this problem was to install an expensive chimney liner, which could cost as much as $2,000 - $3,000. With this ATTIC MOISTURE SEAL in place, Chimney Doctors is able to save a consumer/client essentially all of the cost that would have otherwise been necessary for a chimney liner.

William Hussel, President submitted the request for the Patent in 1995. Mr. Hussel stated that securing a United States Patent is a very long and expensive process, but that it was well worth the time and effort.
